Canada a country of 'underperfomers', says Conference Board: CATA CEO Comments

Disappointed by Canada’s poor global competitiveness ranking, the Conference Board of Canada is launching a new initiative to make Canadian companies more innovative. The Centre for Business Innovation will explore why Canadian firms are not world leaders in innovation, develop business strategies to help companies change that, track benchmarks of innovation performance, and suggest public policies to stimulate business innovation in Canada...

"We’ve been very weak in Canada in flowing growth capital to new and emerging SME companies. So that’s a primary drag if you don’t have the financial wherewithal to actually advance your business and grow,” adds John Reid, president and CEO of the Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance."
