This award is given in recognition of the leader who has created an innovative new product and organization.  The award is named in honour of Peter Brojde, and symbolizes his ethic of personal and business success through hard work, perseverance and community involvement. Always driven to innovate, Peter, together with his brother-in-law, Maks Wulkan, and another colleague at Philips, co-founded Eicon Technology Corporation, a pioneer in computer and network connectivity. The company grew under Peter's leadership as President and CEO from 3 employees to 700 employees in 70 countries around the world, and ranked fourth largest among Canadian software manufacturers.

Chris McLaren is the founder and CEO of Tristan Interactive, a leading developer of mobile multimedia solutions for museums. Chris has more than 20 years experience in software engineering, with over 10 in mobile. Previous to Tristan, Chris was the Vice President of Engineering at Magmic Games, a leading developer and publisher of mobile entertainment software. In addition to founding two other successful startup companies, Chris has held senior technical and management roles at IBM and Corel.
