Determining Primes for Technology Roadmap Delivery and Facilitating Supplier Relationships: @CATAAlliance steps up to the mission!

The Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance (CATAAlliance) is pleased to announce that Chief Business Officer, Kevin Wennekes, has joined the Ottawa Police Services (OPS) IT Modernization Services Steering Committee.

The IT Modernization Services Steering Committee has been established to ensure open, transparent decision making and program oversight on all matters related to the delivery of the OPS IT Roadmap. The primary goal is to ensure that the IT Roadmap leverages the high tech solutions required to propel a law enforcement agency to perform as a police service center of excellence in the 21st century.

Mr. Wennekes will be joining a group of peers represented by over a dozen OPS representatives and includes agents from City of Ottawa, Defence Research and Development Canada, Treasury Board Secretariat, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and Gartner.

"I am deeply honoured to be a part of such a significant and unprecedented undertaking by a Canadian police service," says Mr. Wennekes. "The IT Roadmap will result in a true transformational change within OPS impacting not only on the technology tools and services in which they invest, but also ultimately help them realize tremendous advances in areas such as evidence-based decision making, information sharing, frontline mobility strategies, and work management and scheduling, to name only a few. It will be a fascinating year ahead serving with this esteemed body and providing oversight and stewardship to the Roadmap's launch."

The OPS IT Roadmap involves a 6-year implementation plan that is projected to cost in the range of $40M - $48M and result in $24M in cumulative benefits. The RFP is expected to be released in mid-May 2016 with the Prime selected in early by October 2016.
