Ottawa, April 30, 2007... A recently-held executive roundtable and its associated research papers have provided a platform of new information for CIO's that helps them do their jobs more effectively and at high speed, according to experts from IBM Canada, SAP Canada, The Access Group and Canada's largest high-tech association, the Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance (CATAAlliance). "The role of the CIO in achieving organizational success is undeniable," said John Reid, President of CATAAlliance. "Informational technology, when effectively managed, has the potential to create and deliver high value to organizations and business units. But what are the challenges that lie head? How can CIOs make progress? Who have best practice stories to tell? These questions were addressed by a group of leading Chief Information Officers and Information Technology specialists at a recent Executive Roundtable."

"The Never-Ending Challenge: Creating and Delivering Value to the Business Units", is a 12-page Briefing Guide that boosts the impact of the CIO's role. It shows CIO's how to engage their team in corporate brainstorming that will enhance the value of the Information function -- and consequently the value of the CIO -- to the organization. The Guide covers three major themes:

Though the offices of IBM Canada, a pilot program of One-on-One CIO Coaching is now available to assist CIO's better define issues, assess risks and implement plans. The no-fee program comprises three coaching sessions, utilizing direct meeting or teleconference formats. Initially the pilot will be made available to large companies ($200+ million in revenues) and public sector organizations.
