Bayer HealthCare's Grants4Apps® Accelerator invites Canadian health tech startups to submit their innovative healthcare projects

TORONTO, ON, April, 20, 2015 – Following the successful first year of Bayer HealthCare’s Grants4Apps® Accelerator program in 2014, applications for 2015 are now available for health tech startups in Canada.

The open innovation program welcomes startups whose software services, hardware, technologies, or apps have the potential of creating value for physicians and patients. Selected startups will receive mentoring by entrepreneurs and Bayer experts, office space for 100 days at Bayer Pharma AG headquarters, and funding of €50,000.

“Innovative approaches through technology are key to transforming the health care sector to make the industry more efficient and accessible,” says Christian Lauterbach, President & CEO, Bayer Inc. “Innovation is the foundation to our success and we want to support and share our expertise with Canadian tech startups looking to take their inventive health solutions to the next level.”

Startups that benefited from the program last year include Cortrium with their C3 device, a state-of-the-art wearable tech sensor for wireless monitoring of health data; PharmaAssistant, a self-management tool for chronic disease patients and FabUlyzer, a wearable device that smells your breath to provide a personalized indication of your fat-burn during and after activities.

Projects can be submitted online until May 31, 2015.
