URGENT - First Responders Needed for Tri-Services Technology Capability Assessment Steering Committee

The objective of the TTCA project, administered by CATAAlliance in partnership with the CPRC and Tri-Services Agencies (CAFC, EMSCC, and CACP), is to identify how broadly and effectively First Responders are using existing technology, and to gauge which technologies will be important in the near and mid-term. The role of the steering committee will be to provide input into this important undertaking.
As a Steering Committee member, you will be asked to assist, in part, by: listing common technology utilized by first responders; identifying challenges presented by their operational environments; formulating questions from which the holistic assessment framework must be developed; and, refining the communications strategy/methodology. A total time commitment of approximately 15-20 hours between now and December 2011 will be required of you. You must also be able to attend the full-day launch session planned for May 5 in Ottawa (travel and accommodation expenses will be covered).
My partners, including Don Warden (CAFC), Kelly Nash (EMSCC), and Peter Cuthbert (CACP) are actively helping to recruit committee members, so please feel free to contact them directly for more information, or reply to me through this email to let me know if you’re interested. We are seeking approximately 3 Fire, 3 EMS, and 6 Police representatives.
Candidates must have demonstrated experience in the use and application of technology in their field, ranging from those used on the front lines, to those in the labs and back offices. We have and will be approaching individuals who we already know possess the expertise required, but are clearly interested in inviting those who also have a passion and subsequent proactive desire to participate in this research undertaking. So please contact any of us if this describes you.
