OTTAWA. ON.... CATAAlliance (, a recognized champion of Canadian innovation and entrepreneurship, today announced that Jeronimo De Miguel, VP Branding at Manulife Financial has joined the CATA Innovation Leadership Council (ILC).

The ILC serves as an advisory body, providing guidance on the implementation of the CATAAlliance mandate to support the global competitiveness of its members and the advancement of Canada as a competitive Innovation Nation, in addition to offering a community peer network to assess share insights into needs, trends and achievements.

About Jeronimo De Miguel

Jeronimo has over 15 years of experience in helping organizations tell their stories. As Vice President, Branding & Creative and a member of the Canadian Division Executive Management Team (CDEMT), he is responsible for developing and implementing the Canadian Division brand strategy and leads the establishment of brand governance, including guidelines and standards throughout the organization. In his current role, Jeronimo also oversees the company's in-house creative agency and is accountable for the coordination of advertising campaigns, employee brand advocacy programs, the evolution of tracking and measurement strategies, and the establishment of the company's global digital brand strategy.

Jeronimo joined Manulife in 2006 and has since held of a number of finance and strategy roles including Director of Investor Relations, Director of Financial Reporting & Planning and Assistant Vice President, Strategic Planning. In the Fall of 2010, he assumed responsibility of media relations and philanthropy as AVP External Relations. In acknowledgement of the work he led to help build engaged communities throughout Canada, he was honoured with a Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2012.

Prior to joining Manulife, Jeronimo worked with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in capacity-building projects for post-conflict communities in Kosovo, Sri Lanka, Cyprus and Brazil.

Jeronimo has an MBA in Finance from the Rotman School of Management at the University of Toronto and a BA in Political Science and Economics from McGill University in Montreal. He is an avid communicator and in addition to English speaks/writes/reads Spanish, French and Portuguese.
