Save date for i-CANADA Summit:
WCIT Meeting Oct 23-24, Montreal: Following the success of its inaugural meeting in Windsor in November, i-CANADA is planning its next summit in Montreal on October 21st, a day before the World Congress on Information Technology (WCIT) summit. The WCIT summit features 100 high-profile speakers and 3,000 delegates from more than 80 countries. The i-CANADA summit will wrap together the Regional i-CANADA events from the West, Central Canada, Quebec and the Atlantic Region, in a celebration and deliberation on the progress of Canadian Intelligent Communities. Communities starting i-CANADA program:
i-CANADA has created a solid Development Program to help centres along the pathway to becoming Intelligent Communities. Active programs are underway in communities ranging from rural-urban areas such as Parry Sound, to provinces like Nova Scotia, and entire regions. Interest in IXT Task Force?:
Internet Exchange Points (IXTs) have been called ‘critical’ to the development of a robust telecom system for Canada. Interest is building in creating a Task Force to identify individuals and organizations that would like to advance this.
