Small and Medium-Sized Business Customer Success Manager (SMB CSM)

Do you have experience defining a customer journey and implementing a customer success program that results in customer advocates?  We are actively seeking individuals with Customer Success backgrounds who also have a strong entrepreneurial foundation to own our small and mid-sized business (SMB) onboarding program.

As part of the Customer Success team you will leverage existing resources, including the Customer Advocacy team, to define the post-sales SMB customer journey.  After defining the customer journey, you will own the creation and execution of a scalable onboarding program that will take customers from post-contract to customer advocate.

The SMB program will cover all aspects of the post-sale customer journey including transition from the growth team, onboarding, training and more.  Your success will be measured on: customer engagement rates, active referenceable customers, account growth and more.

Your average customer is an accountant with a minimum three years of professional experience and at least four years of post-secondary education and maintains a professional designation such as CPA, CFE, CFA, etc.  As highly analytical professionals, their work revolves around spread sheets, data conversions and resulting insights.  Your SMB program must enable your customers to complete their work with greater assurance, faster than their current process.

Required experience

  • Intermediate or senior level Customer Success experience; including account management, training and support
  • Successful creation and implementation of scalable onboarding program that resulted in increased product utilization, account growth and customer advocates
  • Entrepreneurial experience; demonstrated ability to build an organization
  • Implement a data driven decision making process; you discover hidden insights in your data and leverage those
  • Proven leader; strong ability to motivate others, build consensus and nurture inter-departmental relationships

Preferred experience

  • Understanding of audit process and methodology
  • Experience implementing or supporting a learning management system
  • Experience using and implementing industry standard customer success tools such as; Intercom, GainSight, AppTrinsic, MixPanel, SalesForce, Intercom, etc.

  • Over achiever with the highest standards for success
  • Highest level of communication
  • Data driven; obsessed with making iterative improvements
  • Comfortable learning complex software and developing training programs
  • Willingness to support client requirements that, on occasion, may fall outside of normal business hours
  • Must be able to gain and hold government security clearance
  • Able to travel to the US and EU

Desired education

  • Preference will be given to individuals with a proven track record for customer success delivery, but a back ground in business, education or a related field could help accelerate delivery methodology.
