Nominate today for the TELUS Award to be presented at CATAAlliance’s Innovation Awards Gala
OTTAWA – CATAAlliance, Canada’s One Voice for Innovation Lobby Group and ‘political party’ for Canada’s tech industry, announced today the opening of nominations for the Outstanding Product Achievement Award recognizing M-Health Innovation Excellence in Canada’s healthcare sector. The award is named after one of the world’s leading telecommunications and health technology firms, TELUS.
The Award will be presented to a Canadian organization for an outstanding technology engineering development or solution, which has resulted in the production of a world-class M-Health product or family of products. The product or solution will have proven itself in operation, and its design and market success will have enhanced Canada’s international reputation for healthcare innovation and excellence.
Canadian experts report that the digital healthcare revolution will shift the landscape from physician-centric, disease-oriented and hospital-based to a consumer-driven, wellness-focused system that measures personal biometrics. This will generate data, devices and other monitoring systems to measure each individual’s needs.
The convergence of genomics and handheld and wearable devices will enable all of us to have our own personal dashboard – a more efficient way of viewing our electronic health records.

Finalists and award recipients for 2019 will be chosen by a selection committee comprised of experts drawn from the CATAAlliance Innovation Leadership Council and TELUS.
“The race is on to develop new digital healthcare technologies and Canadian companies need to be at the forefront,” said Ohad Arazi, Chief Strategy Officer and VP of Provider Solutions at TELUS Health. “We are honoured to support this award, which recognizes Canada’s best in mobile healthcare technologies.”
The Award for M-Health Innovation will be presented on May 15, 2019 in Ottawa at the CATAAlliance’s Annual Innovation Awards Gala Dinner, a 34-year tradition of recognizing outstanding technological innovation and corporate leadership in expanding the frontiers of Canada’s advanced technology industries. They are an important part of building Canada’s competitive Innovation Nation.”
“We’re proud that the M-Health Innovation Award is named in TELUS’ honour and congratulate them on their corporate citizenship,” added Reid.
