Datebook: DATA DAY 6.0 at Carleton University (Tuesday, March 26th, Ottawa): a CATA Partnered Event

DATA DAY 6.0 (Datebook, March 26, 2019)

Dear Community members,

We cordially invite you to datebook and attend as our guest DATA DAY 6.0, hosted by the Institute for Data Science, Carleton University, partnered with CATAAlliance.

DATA DAY is an annual conference that celebrates the latest developments in data science and analytics research within Carleton University, the local community and Canada.

Our sixth annual DATA DAY will be held on Tuesday March 26th, 2019 at Carleton University (8:30 am to 4:30 pm, at Richcraft Hall).

The event will include presentations by Carleton researchers, government and industry experts, keynote addresses, and panel discussions. In addition, there will be a speed networking session where Carleton students will be able to meet and network with industry. Running concurrently will be a poster competition to showcase graduate student research in data science and analytics across all disciplines.

The context and topics of focus for year’s DATA DAY 6.0 panels will be set by lead keynote, Anil Arora, chief statistician, Statistics Canada, the agency that advises on matters pertaining to statistical programs of the department and agencies of the Government of Canada

In carrying out that mandate, issues affecting both the private and public sectors and indeed all citizens are addressed, such as as privacy, big data, access to and ownership of data, Ai and societal change.

Experts will address these topics throughout the day as panel discussions that engage the audience in active Q&A.

DATA DAY 6.0 is open to all data science, Ai and analytics enthusiasts, regardless of affiliation to Carleton University. In previous years, our attendees have been equally spread between the public and private sectors and the Carleton community. This blend of academia and industry creates an ideal environment for multidisciplinary collaboration and networking.

This event is also open to the public but registration will be required and space is limited. Refreshments and a buffet lunch are included.
