Ps a Sixth tip, when you receive the URL for connecting, and there is a connection issue, then try pasting the url in the address line (http) of a Chrome Browser.
First, note that we use Google/Youtube Hangouts, and a gmail account is no longer needed and that you are recorded using Google Hangouts.
We will put your video date with CATA on your/our calendar as a reminder, so please arrive 15 minutes before recording time and make sure you are set up and ready to go.
Second, you will receive your URL for joining the video call about 15 minutes before starting time (note do not use/click the URL provided in the calendar reminder).
Third, all you need is a webcam and a light source directed towards you and sit up straight.
-position your webcam so that your look directly into it, and avoid pointing your webcam towards the ceiling…Look into the webcam and not at the screen. … we don’t want your ceiling as background.
-if you are using a wired earpiece hide the wire a bit. One very easy hide is to flip the wire over your shoulder so it runs down your back then you only see the bit of wire from ear to shoulder or tuck part of the wire into your jacket upper pocket.
Fourth, don’t overload your internet with other tasks when your cam in on, the stronger the connection the better.
Fifth, turn off your phones because to have one ring in the middle of you talking means we have to do it again, just as you were hitting perfection.
-if there are connection issues, we have done 800 interviews and should be able to help you figure it out. No problems anticipated though. If you like, try testing your connection ahead of time using Google Hangouts.
Lastly, it’s fun, be relaxed and your messaging strengthens the desired outcomes for advocacy, event profile, and your leadership profile.
