International Cyberweek Business Program in Atlanta, Georgia October 9 & 10, 2018

Dear Community members,

The Consulate General of Canada and CATA Cyber invite you to apply to participate in an international cybersecurity program during Atlanta Cyberweek. Atlanta Cyberweek is a public-private collaboration hosting multiple events that will highlight the pillars of the region’s cybersecurity ecosystem and create opportunities for meaningful interaction between growth-oriented companies and Fortune 500 clients. This week also overlaps with events related to the fintech industry.

Given the synergies between cybersecurity and fintech, the Consulate General of Canada in Atlanta is inviting Canadian cybersecurity companies with a strong use case for the fintech/financial institution industries to Atlanta. Atlanta is considered a fintech center as many payment processing companies have their headquarters based in Georgia. In fact, nearly 70 percent of all payment card transactions are processed in the state of Georgia. Georgia is also an important cybersecurity center as the U.S. Army Cyber Center of Excellence recently opened in Augusta, GA.

The ideal company for this delegation is export-ready and prepared to pitch in front of a room of Fortune 500 CIOs and CISOs. The Consulate has invited the region’s top fintech leaders to attend. It is highly recommended that your company have experience and knowledge about open banking and GDPR.

“This is an excellent opportunity for Canadian cyber security companies to showcase their expertise and innovation,” says Katherine Thompson, Chair of CATA Cyber. “It also highlights the great commitment the Consulate General of Canada team has to helping Canadian innovation find its place on the global stage.”

Companies attending will benefit from B2B exchanges, possible speaking opportunities and several networking events.

Participants will need to cover their own travel and lodging costs. Events will have varying entry fees, but most are free.

More information will be added to this program as it becomes available. A final agenda will be provided as the program is confirmed.

The application deadline is August 27, 2018. Selected companies will be notified by August 31, 2018.
