Ottawa, August 31, 2010 CATA Alliance has launched it's third annual First Responder Vendor Outreach Forum, this year taking place in the Atlantic Canada region. The full agenda is now available on-line, including our list of impressive speakers. Our Keynote Speaker for Day 2 will be announced in the coming week!
The Forums provide a dynamic, interactive environment where ICT vendors get the rare opportunity to meet exclusively with leaders from Canada's First Responder and Public Safety and Security (PSS) community as the groups work towards ending Canada's interoperability crisis and technology gap. The Forums apply a unique "Dragon's Den" approach coupled with a series of first responder led dialogues has proven to be a valuable format for all who participate.
"These CATA Forums have proven to be an outstanding environment to facilitate open and honest discussion among vendors and Canada's public safety practitioners," says Inspector (Ret'd) Lance Valcour with the Canadian Police Research Centre and Project Manager for the Canadian Interoperability Technology Interest Group (CITIG). "Both first responders and vendors derive tremendous value through the Forums, with industry receiving a unique opportunity to demonstrate their product or service to a key group of our technology and procurement stakeholders, while we gain from getting a better understanding of what's out there and share our needs and procurement approach in an open and transparent way."
With many vendors reporting point of sale returns at the previous Forum, and the majority indicating they plan on returning for future events, it is anticipated that Boardrooms and registration space will fill up fast. First Responder organizations already committed to participate include: Halifax Regional Police, Cape Breton Regional Police, Truro Police, Halifax Regional Fire & Emergency Service, Cape Breton Regional Municipality Fire Services, Halifax Regional Municipality Emergency Management Organization, and the Canadian Forces.
