Team Atlantic
Peter Lindfield, Regional Director
Peter Lindfield is the chair of the Carlisle Institute, a research centre and think tank focused on the impact of globalization on Atlantic Canada. Key research themes include how Atlantic Canada can respond to the challenges of economic liberalization, changes in capital market developments, technological advances and demographic shifts. Research programs include the resilient city; best practices in productivity and performance improvement; Atlantic Canada and the global value chain; the role of trust in social networks; industry associations and regional economic competitiveness; the importance of art and culture to business competitiveness; and child care options in Atlantic Canada.
He is also president and CEO of Balanced Viewpoint, a provider of international conferences focused on the global supply chain. Balanced Viewpoint has hosted the annual Worldsourcing conference in Atlantic Canada since 2006. He has been regional vice president with EDS Canada, vice president and managing director with SHL Systemhouse and managing partner with OCG. He is a recognized authority on business strategy, outsourcing and shared services and is a frequent speaker to business audiences across North America on the emerging challenges to global economic stability. He studied for a doctorate in political philosophy at Ottawa’s Carleton University where he lectured in strategy and where he was research director for the Technology Competitiveness Program and executive director for the Organizational Change in Government Program. His book on of the global re-alignment of economic activity and the impact on Canada is titled “Whistling Past the Graveyard” and is slated for publication in 2010. He also writes a weekly business column for the Saint John Telegraph Journal.
He has served as director of a number of business and not-for-profit organizations including the
Canadian Centre for Business-Government Relations, the Information Technology Alliance of Nova Scotia (ITANS), the Management Research Laboratory (MRL) and the Beaverbrook Art Gallery. He is chair of the New Brunswick Chamber of Commerce and is currently director with the Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance (CATA), the Atlantic Provinces Chamber of Commerce and the New Brunswick Salmon Council. He lives overlooking the Saint John River with his wife Nicole.
Emily Boucher, Director of Communications
Emily Boucher is a graduate of the Algonquin College Public Relations Program, and received her B.A. (Honours) in Political Science and English Literature from Carleton University in 2005. She was the winner of the IABC Rick Green Award in 2008. Emily’s responsibilities at CATA include special event coordination, external and internal communications, web-content, and social media.
She is currently working on her Master’s in Public Relations (MPR) at Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax part-time, while maintaining her role with CATA and CATAAtlantic. Emily was born in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia, and currently resides in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, where she represents CATAAtlantic.
