Contributor to Waterloo’s “Intelligent Community” Victory Praises i-CANADA
October 23, 2013

Mark Whaley, Councillor for the City of Waterloo and one of the architects of that city’s victory as Top Intelligent Community of the Year in 2007, has praised the role of i-CANADA in helping Canadian cities obtain such a large presence in the recent rankings.

Mr. Whaley noted that: “It was with a sense of quiet joy that I read the list of top 21 Intelligent Communities and came to the realization that our Canadian presence is such a dominant force in this global movement.

“I am certain one of the primary reasons for this remarkable showing is that we have  an organization such as i-Canada to give us focus, guidance and most important, a sense of community and common purpose.

“Thanks to you Barry and your team at i-Canada.  The results of your efforts speak for themselves!”

“The fact that fully six of the 21 top contenders this year are Canadian is a tremendous testament to the hard work, vision and focus of hundreds of people,” said i-CANADA Co-founder Barry Gander.  “I hope they are all tied for first place!”
