Biographies:

NICHOLAS ARMOUR - Canadian Director, UK Trade & Investment

Born in York, England, Nicholas Armour was educated at Ampleforth and Exeter University, where he studied French and a smattering of Italian. Since joining the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) in 1974, he has held various overseas posts in Beirut, Athens, Muscat and Dubai (Consul General) as well as serving as head of the FCO's North America Department in London. Armour is currently Britain's Consul General in Toronto as well as Director of UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) across Canada.

In addition to his time with the FCO, he has worked for Britain's Department of Trade and Industry as well as the Royal College of Defence Studies, where he was Senior Directing Staff (Civilian).

 

ADÈLE MALO - Executive Vice President and General Counsel, Direct Energy

As Executive Vice President and General Counsel, Adèle is responsible for all aspects of Direct Energy's legal and regulatory functions in North America, as well as for the property and real estate functions. As Executive Sponsor of the Direct Energy Climate Change Committee, Adèle is responsible for ensuring that the various energy efficiency initiatives of the company are effective and co-ordinated. She is also a member of Direct Energy's Executive Committee.

Prior to joining Direct Energy, Adèle held the role of VP, Law and General Counsel and VP, Sustainable Development at Ontario Power Generation (OPG), one of the largest electricity generators in North America. Adèle was responsible for the identification, management, and oversight of all legal, governance, corporate environmental and real estate matters affecting OPG.

Adèle holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Guelph, a law degree from the University of Windsor and a Master of Law degree from the University of Cambridge in England.

 

DAVE GERWING - President, Menova Energy Inc.

Mr. Gerwing is the President of Menova Energy Inc. and has over 26 years of mechanical engineering and product development experience. Mr. Gerwing has strong and detailed knowledge of the energy industry. Mr. Gerwing is an accomplished research engineer, process engineer, project manager, renewable energy engineer and business manager with a strong background in technical development and process and product innovation. Mr. Gerwing has worked in a wide variety of industries including building HVAC, transportation, manufacturing, telecom, nuclear energy, biotechnology, and renewable energy generation.
