Dear Community Members,
As part of increasing the profile of Women in Tech, we are developing a series of videos of CanWIT executive leaders who have innovation insights to share.
Our first video
is the winner of the prestigious Canadian Women in Technology (CanWIT) Sara Kirke Award for Entrepreneurship and Innovation
, presented at the Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance's 27th Annual Innovation Awards Gala
in May. This annual award recognizes a Canadian woman who has shown outstanding technological innovation and corporate leadership - leadership that has significantly expanded the frontiers of Canada's advanced technology industry.

Executive Director of the Digital Media Zone, Valerie Fox
has over 25 years of tech experience in both academia and industry sectors. Opened in April 2010, Ryerson University's Digital Media Zone is a hub of digital media innovation, collaboration and commercialization. It is home to both entrepreneurial startups and industry solution-providers. With access to overhead and business services, students and alumni can fast-track their product launches, stimulating Canada's emerging digital economy through spending and job creation. Since its launch, the Digital Media Zone has incubated and accelerated 45 companies to launch more than 88 projects.
We’re also developing a national Mentorship video series; the pilot episode is in production. Stay tuned to CanWIT.ca
