Good Day All:
We have updated the i-CANADA Vision document making use of the feedback and guidance received over the past several months from more than 1000 executives, including i-CANADA Governors, Premiers, Mayors, CEOs, expert advisors, and other supporters who are debating issues on the i-CANADA social network.
In particular we drew on a broadly representative group of executives with deep knowledge of Intelligent communities and experience with i-CANADA. This “Group of Seven” included:
Dan Mathieson, Mayor of Stratford, a 2011 Intelligent Community Forum Top 7 winner and tireless promoter of intelligent communities….and Justin Bieber J
Peter Aceto, CEO of ING Direct; a bank that stresses the world of the future and Diamond Sponsor of i-CANADA;
John Campbell, CEO of Waterfront Toronto, one of the world’s largest community revitalization initiatives,
Jim Gragtmans, CEO of ET Group, an entrepreneurial young company, and an executive who has served for some time as Chair of a smaller community’s Economic Development Council;
Pat Horgan, SVP, Manufacturing, Research and Operations of IBM, one of the world’s largest corporations and Diamond Sponsor of i-CANADA. Pat is the Canadian leader for IBM’s Smarter Planet Initiative;
John Reid, CEO of one of Canada’s largest industry trade organizations and supporter par excellence of innovation global trade and the growth of Canada’s high tech sector; and,
Kristina Verner; R&D Officer, Centre for Smart Community Innovation for the Windsor-Essex Top 7 Award, Regional Director for i-CANADA and representative of the ”younger community”.
The purpose of creating this document was to provide a sense of our vision along with a bit of background and a brief high level sense of our progress….all in two pages or less.

We also need your assistance in mobilizing Canadians, so please circulate the i-CANADA Vision to your network of contacts in private & public sectors as well as universities.
