Startup Canada co-founder Victoria Lennox has been appointed to the Canadian Women in Technology (CanWIT) Advisory Council (CAC)
August 27, 2012
CanWIT, a division of CATAAlliance, is a national volunteer organization dedicated to expanding and enhancing the careers of women in the advanced technology field. The Advisory Council provides guidance and advice in relation to the implementation of CanWIT’s mandate – to support women in Canada’s technology sector – and also offers a community network to assess needs, trends and achievements.
“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to contribute to CANWIT’s agenda and to further support the connectivity between CATAAlliance and Startup Canada,” says Lennox. “While I am passionate about entrepreneurship, innovation, and high-growth enterprise, I am just as committed to working towards promoting careers and opportunities in these sectors to women across Canada.”
Lennox brings experience in extensive leadership, community building, and policy to her role on the Council, and as the youngest member of the Council hopes to inspire young women to consider careers in the IT industry and entrepreneurship.
