CATAAlliance (International) – Join Noted Canadian First Responders in Mission to China
July 27, 2011

The Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance (CATA) is pleased to inform you of a major China-bound trade delegation taking place this November, and offer an invitation to any security sector Canadian vendors to participate.

The delegation has already obtained the committed participation from the following organizations:
  • Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials
  • British Columbia Ambulance Service
  • Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police
  • Canadian Association of Fire Chiefs
  • Canadian Police Research Centre
  • Emergency Medical Services Chiefs of Canada
  • Halifax Regional Police
  • Ottawa Fire Service
  • Senior Officials Responsible for Emergency Management (SOREM Canada)
  • Toronto Police Service
The expectations for a fully funded mission will see the delegation begin in Hong Kong, and visit the cities of Shenzhen, Guangzhou, and Beijing. The mission will also be anchored around the CATA Canadian Pavilion being developed for the 13th Annual China Public Security Expo (CPSE) (http://www.cpse.com.cn/index.php?lang=en).

"We are excited at the prospect of leading such a senior level of Canadian public safety and security leaders to China," says CATA VP Kevin Wennekes, the delegation lead. "Having brought smaller First Responder delegations in the past, we know how much of an impact their presence has in China. With the delegation we have planned this year, we anticipate creating some real headway in establishing Canadian-Chinese public safety partnerships."

The principal purpose of this mission is to establish relations with China's senior police and government officials to deal with matters of common interest related to first responder and public safety and security issues, while affording Canadian businesses an opportunity to establish their own product and service capabilities among these leaders.

Canadian vendors of public safety and security technologies are being invited to join this delegation and secure space at the Canadian Country Pavilion planned for the CPSE.

CATA has again secured funding opportunities for participants through the Global Opportunities for Associations (GOA) program, allowing for reimbursements for up to 50 per cent of the costs associated with attending the exhibitions (travel and accommodations) and purchasing a pod in CATA's exclusive Canadian Pavilions.

The Pavilion experience provides companies with greater exposure and brand awareness linked into a Canadian themed Pavilion, access to an exclusive VIP dinner reception, one-on-one matchmaking services, and on-the-ground logistical and technical assistance as offered through our locally engaged staff.

Package costs begin as low as $5,200. For information on costs associated with joining the delegation beyond the trade show, please contact Kevin Wennekes (kwennekes@cata.ca) or Mrs. Qu Sun, CATA China's Chief Representative at qusun@cata.ca.
