We just announced our keynote speaker, Michael Doucet, Chief Technology Officer for the RCMP, and I also recently confirmed that Ron Dingwell, Officer in Charge (O.R.), RCMP Atlantic Region will be providing a presentation and participating in the Boardroom series as well. You can discover other participating organizations, register, or simply peruse the site here: http://www.cata.ca/Media_and_
In fact, we are close to making a number of major announcements regarding sponsors, speakers and First Responder delegates, and with interest in the Forum being quite strong, I have decided to create a LinkedIn Group dedicated to the Forum series. To sign up to this group, please use the following link: http://www.linkedin.com/
I hope to use this group as the primary means of updating you, in real-time, on new speakers for the Forum and also treat it as a vehicle for collecting your feedback on expectations for future events, past Forum experiences, and to see it become a means of continuing the discussions among our respective groups (vendors, First Responders and other members of the public safety and security community).
Please do take a moment to sign up and join the discussion.

4th Canadian Public Safety Interoperability Workshop: A CITIG National Forum - Victoria
Taking place from December 5 to 8, 2010 in Victoria, British Columbia, the event will again bring together a broad base of public safety and emergency management practitioners to develop a mutual understanding of the key voice and data - interoperability issues facing today’s public safety sector. With a focus on information exchange, topic-specific discussion and interactive break-outs, the fourth national workshop aims to support and promote the transfer of best practices and experience, and the development of a more unified approach to public safety interoperability across the country, between nations and internationally. Visit www.citig.ca for more detailed event information and visit http://www.cacp.ca/index/
CATA has purchased a booth again this year where I’ll be giving away free research, swag, and advice! Look forward to seeing you there.
Canadian Pavilion at the 10th China International Exhibition on Public Safety and Security - Beijing
CATA is organizing a Canadian Pavilion to the 10th China International Exhibition on Public Safety and Security (www.securitychina.com.cn), which will be held in China International Exhibition Center on November 2–5, 2010 in Beijing, P.R. China.
Organized by China Security and Protection Industry Association (CSPIA), and under supports of Ministry of Public Security, P.R. China and Ministry of Science & Technology, P.R. China, Security China 2010 is one of the largest and most professional security exhibitions in China. Security China 2010 will involve more than 1000 exhibitors in an area of 75,000 square meters enjoying more than 110,000 visitors. A Canadian Pavilion is the best way to attract attention to your company and stand out from the crowd.
I am also working diligently on having a number of key First Responders and public safety and security leaders join this pavilion as we did last year. First Responders in uniform received great attention and respect from the Chinese government and business leaders, which naturally resulted in more attention for Canadian vendors who were with us. Contact me directly for more details.
That’s it for now – as always, contact me by phone or email with any questions regarding our work here or across the CATA landscape.
