Ron Dingwell, Officer in Charge (O.R.),RCMP(GRC) Atlantic Region added to the keynotes at the 3rd Annual CATA-CPRC First Responder Vendor Outreach Forum

Ron Dingwell is Officer in Charge (O.R.),RCMP(GRC) Atlantic Region (Région de l'Atlantique) Informatics (Service de l'Informatique). He graduated in June 1976 from the College of Trade & Technology, St.John’s, Newfoundland, with a Diploma in Communications Electronics. Mr Dingwell was the recipient of the RCMP Long Service Medal in 1998. In August 2002, Mr Dingwell was the first Canadian to be awarded the Danny Smith award. This prestigious award is given to a Mobile Trunked Users Group (MTUG) member (membership is over 600) who displays dedication to public safety communications and shows an aptitude in bringing people together to find solutions to common telecommunication challenges. In December of 2002, Mr. Dingwell was awarded the Queens Jubilee Medal. The Medal was crafted on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of Her Majesty’s ascension to the throne. Medals were awarded to honour RCMP employees who have made a significant achievement or distinguished service to their fellow citizens, their communities or to Canada. He joined the RCMP in 1978 in St.John’s, Newfoundland after 2 years in the private telecommunications industry. He has occupied several positions in the RCMP in “B” Division (Newfoundland & Labrador), “H” Division (Nova Scotia) & Atlantic Region. He is currently the RCMP Atlantic Region Informatics Officer with 120 staff in the disciplines of Information Communication Technology and Information Management.
