The Golf/Business Experience of a Lifetime

LearningLinks Inc. (Ottawa, Canada) and MWM Sports Management (Holywood, Ireland), in association with CATAAlliance offer you an exciting opportunity to develop your business in Europe’s hottest Information/Communication Technology centre – Ireland.

During the week of September 22 through September 29, 2006, arrangements will be made for you to meet key industry contacts in Ireland, play world‐class golf courses, meet great people, experience Irish hospitality, improve your golf game through world‐class golf instruction and experience the atmosphere of one of the world’s great sporting events – live.

The 2006 Ryder Cup is predicted to be one of the best Ryder Cups in history. In 2004 at Oakland Hills Golf Club in Michigan, the European team soundly defeated the United States Team 18 ½ ‐ 9 ½. For the first time, the Ryder Cup will be played in Ireland (The K Club near Dublin). The United States will be very motivated to return the cup to the United States after a devastating loss at home. The teams will be lead by two passionate captains – Ian Woosnam for Europe and Tom Lehman for the United States.

Join us for the final two rounds of the 2006 Ryder Cup at the K Club (Dublin)…. and following the Ryder Cup, connect with valuable business contacts and play some of the world’s great golf courses.

We’ll start the week in Northern Ireland at the famous Royal Belfast (you will compete in a Canada vs. Ireland match with Irish business representatives). We’ll continue our journey in the North to the fantastic Royal Portrush, one of the world’s best links layouts. We’ll then move northwest to the fantastic Ballyliffin, identified by Nick Faldo as one of the world’s hidden gems. Our golf journey will end at Portmarnock (Dublin region), one of the world’s truly great links courses. Not only will you have the best golf experience of your life, but business development opportunities will be arranged throughout the week for you to connect with representatives from organizations throughout Ireland….an emerging market.

This will be an experience of a lifetime that will benefit you professionally and personally!

A Vibrant Market

The Republic of Ireland has, over the past decade, completely overturned its old image as one of the 'poor men' of Europe. It has now become one of the most forward looking European countries with a new outlook and an economic system which has undergone a dramatic revolution. As a consequence, Ireland has become a magnet for inward investment both in terms of finance and people. Ireland is one of the most attractive locations for investment in information and communication technology.

Over 300 overseas Information/Communication Technology (ICT) companies develop, market and manufacture a wide range of leading edge products in Ireland. Overseas companies, including IBM, Intel, Hewlett Packard, Dell and Microsoft employ 45,000 in Ireland. In 2003 exports in this sector exceeded €21 billion, representing 26% of all exports.

Many of the world’s leading ICT companies have Irish operations that have expanded to take advantage of Ireland’s unique set of competitive advantages. Functions such as shared services, supply chain management, technical support, software development and R&D are increasingly included in the range of operations carried out by ICT companies in Ireland.
