OTTAWA -- The 2013 CATAAlliance Award Winners were announced the evening of May 29th at a sold out Gala Dinner featuring a keynote address from Peter Aceto, CEO, ING Direct Canada. This award, sponsored by Intel Canada, recognizes visionary SMEs (small to midsized enterprises, typically fewer than 250 employees) who are leading the charge in adopting information management's latest capabilities in innovative, cutting-edge, unique and exciting new ways. The winner is chosen from companies featured in the Intel/CATA Small Business Showcase, and must have met criteria spanning from usage of innovations for improvement of efficiency, increasing marketability, cost savings, environmentally friendly approach and improvement of market position.
The 2013 Intel SME Innovation Award selection committee determined a most worthy recipient for this award. The Winner is...YOUi Labs. Jason Flick, CEO of YOUi Labs, to accept the award.
Inwindow Outdoor Experience Station was developed in partnership with YOUi Labs. Inwindow Outdoor had a vision to create a platform that tied together all the cutting edge technology found in consumer electronics. The result is a new kind of device, a device dedicated to delivering incredible branded experiences in a public setting. To execute on their vision and ensure the product designs could be realized without compromise, Inwindow Outdoor chose YOUi Labs and their Natural User Interface (NUI) platform to power the Experience Station. The platform was built from the ground up to address the requirements of today's next generation, natural user interfaces supporting all modern inputs such as multi-touch, motion gesture capture and voice commands. This project employed a truly unique approach for the combined use of multi-touch and touch-less gestures in a completely public setting
