This award recognizes CIOs, or those in equivalent/similar positions, who have shown excellence in managing their organization's enterprise-wide information systems, yielding the greatest returns to their enterprises. Other selection factors include: community engagement, team leadership and authoring of articles, white papers, and speaking engagements.

With over 25 years of experience in wireless R&D, Erik has held senior engineering or technical management positions at a number of communications and aerospace companies namely Litton Systems, ComDev, Lockheed Martin, Newbridge Networks, Alcatel Networks and most recentlyDragonWave. While at Alcatel, Erik led the Wireless Systems Group as AVP and it was from there that he went on to start DragonWave along with 2 other visionary colleagues. Erik’s innovative talent and technical leadership as the CTO and VP of Engineering fuelled DragonWaves’ ability to overcome the now-well-known hurdles that the technology and financial sectors endured over the past decade.  Today DragonWave has risen to become a successful, profitable global company ….. maintaining market share leadership in markets such as the USA. 

Erik has been published or has presented in over a hundred major networking & technology publications and conferences. Erik has served on the Technical Advisory Board of the NCIT (National Capital Institute of Technology). He also holds a number of design patents, and has numerous patents pending.
