High Road Communications Sponsors Canadian Science and Technology Journalism Award
June 16, 2006

"High Road Communications has been serving the public relations needs of technology companies for a decade, and the agency's outstanding relationships with Canadian technology reporters make it an ideal sponsor of this award," said CATAAlliance president John Reid. "We're proud to re-brand our award recognizing outstanding technology and science industry journalism in High Road's honour."

Excellence in Science and Technology Reporting is awarded to a journalist or writer raising the public profile of science and technology. Nominees must show contribution to the building of a science and technology culture in Canada. This year's award will be presented on June 20th at the CATAAlliance's 21st Annual Innovation Awards Gala Dinner, to be held in Ottawa. The three nominees for this year's award are:

  • Simon Avery, reporter at The Globe and Mail
  • Grant Buckler, freelance writer and editor
  • Shane Schick, editor of ITBusiness.ca

Don Smith, President & CEO Mitel Networks, will provide the gala dinner keynote to an audience of Canada's technology leaders.

"Technology and science reporters have a huge responsibility in informing both the business community and the general public about industry trends and life-changing innovations," said Hugh Scholey, Vice President, High Road Communications. "As PR professionals in the technology field, we work with these journalists every day, and have an appreciation for their skills and commitment."
