Community Mobilization re Vendor Advocacy Campaign
June 16, 2006

We require your immediate assistance in contacting your local MP and media regarding the impact of proposed changes to federal government procurement practices, outlined in CATA's recent memo entitled, "Vendor Legislative Alert: New Procurement Rules Strangle Choice, Shut Out Companies".

For details, please refer to:
http://www.cata.ca/Media_and_Events/Press_Releases/cata_pr06130601.html
http://www.connectitnews.com/story.cfm?item=3306

It is imperative that you put this information (by fax, email, phone call and meetings) in the hands of your local MP's and also your local/regional media. Contact information for MPs can be retrieved at:
http://www.parl.gc.ca/common/SenatorsMembers_house.asp?Language=E&Parl=37&Ses=2&Sect=hoccur

As a second action item, please contact businesses in your area that sell or wish to sell their goods and services to the federal government and have them provide their input into CATA's Vendor Advocacy Survey, the basis of the second stage of the Campaign. Refer to:
http://www.e-penso.com/survey/s?s=vendoractcam

I would ask that you copy CATA at info@cata.ca with any feedback and coverage that is received as a result of your community mobilization engagement.

Again, we are asking that you respond to this request at the earliest possible time.

Yours sincerely

John Reid, President, CATAAlliance, President
Jacques Lyrette, CATAAlliance, Co-Chair
