Wireless Public Alerting Dissemination Workshop - June 13 & 14 in Ottawa

Dear CATA Members/Supporters,

We have partnered with Defence Research and Development Canada's Centre for Security Science (DRDC), Industry Canada and Public Safety Canada to host a Wireless Public Alerting Dissemination (WPAD) Workshop in Ottawa on June 13 &14. Hear leaders from each of these organizations and the CRTC explain the importance of the National Public Alerting System Initiative and understand the opportunities available as the system expands to include mobile and other distribution methods.

The workshop will also feature speakers from Alcatel-Lucent, Amika Mobile, AT&T, Cellcast Technologies, Ericsson, FEMA, NOAA, One2Many, Pelmorex Media, Sprint, Telecommunications Systems Inc., the City of New York and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. CATA is pleased to be collaborating with the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association in this workshop.
