Re: May 31 @ 1 PM EST for a webcast to discuss the development of a First Responder LTE testbed currently under development in Ottawa.
Again co-hosted by Steve Palmer, Executive Director of the CPRC and I, join Division Chief Michael Sullivan, Ottawa Fire and CAFC representative on CITIG board; Claude Bélisle, Vice President Satellite Communications and Radio Propagation of the Communications Research Centre; Barry Gander, Chair of the Networked Vehicle Association (NVA); and Rick Turner, Account Director–Strategic Industries, Alcatel-Lucent, as they discuss the development of a First Responder LTE testbed currently under development in Ottawa.
The First Responder Test-Bed is a corridor of some 20 kilometers in length, running along roadways in the Kanata area of Ottawa and open for the participation of all vendors and First Responder organizations, as this partnership has been formed in order to plug First Responders into the facilities of the major research organizations of the public and private sectors.

With a focus on information exchange, topic-specific discussion and interactive break-outs, the Sixth national workshop aims to support and promote the transfer of best practices and experience, and the development of a more unified approach to public safety interoperability across the country, between nations and internationally.

This month, we pay tribute to leadership executives at Motorola Solutions. Motorola has a been a long-standing CATA member and public champion of many of our public safety initiatives. They have been Sponsors of our annual Vendor Outreach Forums since our first one in Toronto back in 2008, were one of the first companies to lend their support and backing for the acquisition of the 700 MHz spectrum for public safety, and owner of the CATA Award for Public Safety Technology of the Year. And this is just the public profile, behind the scenes, many of the Motorola team have been instrumental in helping us shape our advocacy platforms, share advice with our executive team, and generally always assign executive representation at our public safety events, such as last week’s Governing a National Public Safety Broadband Network consultation our regular webcasts.
We apologize in advance for missing anyone on this list of notable Motorola talent as there have been so many of you involved, but please recognize, George Krausz, Suzanne Beyba, Derek Prada, Mike Barker, Al Ittner, and Rula Gogas as some of those with whom CATA has had the distinct pleasure of getting to know on a first name basis!
For those who think they know Motorola’s products and services, we encourage you to take a look at their full spectrum of products and service at this URL:
