SR&ED Survey - Taking the Pulse for Administrative Action
May 24, 2007

Last year CATAAlliance completed consultations on how the SR&ED program can be improved, the resulting reports serving as a basis for industry advocacy.

The results were reviewed with staff of the Minister of Finance, in sector consultations with the Minister, as well as with senior officials in the Department of Finance, among others.

In response to industry concerns, the Minister of Finance did commit in his budget to "identify opportunities to improve the SR&ED program including its administration."

Prior to responding, we would like to better understand recent experiences of CATA members with the program and what you think needs to be done.

We intend to explore this issue through a series of simple on-line consultations over the next several months. As a first step, please provide us with your thoughts on whether the SR&ED program has improved or not over the last year.
You can find the survey at http://www.e-penso.com/survey/s?s=CATASRED507

But do not stop with the Survey, as further mobilization is required and your efforts do make a difference.

Next Steps:
Please sign the SR&ED Petition, send it to your local MP and media and then request a meeting or phone interview to discuss the issues raised regarding the SR&ED program.

The Petition is located at:
