OTTAWA, May 15, 2007 - CATAAlliance, Canada's largest high tech association, and the traditional champion of Canada's Research and Development announced today that its long-standing award for Public Sector Leadership in advanced technology has been renamed the TELUS Public Sector Leadership Award in Advanced Technology.
TELUS is recognized as a premier corporate citizen in Canada, contributing in excess of $91 million to charitable and non-profit organizations since 2000, and is one of this country's most successful telecommunications providers," said CATAAlliance president John Reid. "We're proud to announce that our most prestigious award for public sector leadership will be named in TELUS' honour."
The TELUS Award will be presented in June at the CATAAlliance's 22nd Annual Innovation Awards Gala Dinner, to be held in Ottawa on June 19th. At the Gala, Sir Terrence Matthews and four of Canada's most successful young CEOs will give their views to the 300 attendees on whether Canada is capable of taking advantage of the coming boom in the high tech sector.
