Ottawa Business Journal and CATAAlliance are forming a twosome this summer.
The two organizations are teaming up for a joint golf tournament that promises to attract many of the city's top technology and business leaders.
The tournament, planned for July 7, will be held at ClubLink's GreyHawk Golf and Country Club, which just completed a new $5-million clubhouse.
"We figured there are enough golf tournaments in this city – a little co-operation is a good thing," says CATA president and CEO John Reid. "There is little overlap in attendees and a lot of people who could benefit from attending the same tournament."
OBJ publisher Michael Curran says the event aims to foster collaboration and business connections.
"At the same time, we want to keep in mind some of the people who are less fortunate in our city. For that reason, the tournament will also raise money for two key charities: the Royal Ottawa Hospital Foundation and the Ottawa Food Bank."
A portion of the ticket revenue, a charity draw and live auction featuring more than $10,000 in prizes will benefit the two charities.
The tournament will take place during the morning and afternoon. Golfers can enjoy a hot buffet breakfast, tee off at 8 am and return to the clubhouse for networking, a lunch and auction.
