Diamond Jubilee Medalist Numbers Expand, Invited to Wear Medals at SUMMIT

The winners of the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Medals in high technology are bring invited to wear their medals at the upcoming i-CANADA SUMMIT:  “The Seven Habits of Highly Intelligent Communities”.

The call for a “with decoration” SUMMIT format was prompted by the awarding of the final two medals last week.  Mayor Dianne Watts of Surrey, B.C., presented Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Medals to two outstanding citizens from British Columbia. John Demco received a Medal in recognition for his work in creating the “CA” designation for World Wide Web domain names; Rick Adams received a medal for his pioneering work in creating an open network model hub in Coquitlam.

“This has been called ‘The centre of the universe for smart communities’ for many reasons,” said i-CANADA co-founder Barry Gander.  “The fact that we celebrate the outstanding people who are at the core of our global success, is a centrepiece.”
