Ottawa, April 10, 2006... The official call for nominations for the Sara Kirke Award for Canada's Leading Woman High-Tech Entrepreneur has been announced today by the Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance (CATA).
The Sara Kirke Award is part of CATA's Women in Technology (WIT) Forum. The CATA WIT Forum is designed to help women in technology advance in their careers and succeed as entrepreneurs.
The Sara Kirke award is presented to the woman who has shown the most outstanding technological innovation and corporate leadership -- leadership that has significantly expanded the frontiers of Canada's advanced technology industry.
The winner of this year's Sara Kirke Award will be announced at CATA's Innovation Awards Gala on Tuesday, June 20, 2006, at the Chateau Laurier in Ottawa. For more than two decades, the CATAAlliance Innovation Awards Gala has been celebrating the best in Canadian innovation and outstanding achievement.
The Sara Kirke Award for Women Entrepreneurs is presented annually to the woman who has demonstrated consistent innovation and leadership skills, resulting in the creation and international acceptance of significant world-class products and/or services. Contributions to achieving a more competitive investment climate in Canada will also be taken into account.
The selection is based on a written resume of the nominee's accomplishments and the selection criteria include:

Deadline for nominations is Monday, May 1st, 2006. Nominations will be reviewed by a CATA WIT Forum Selection Committee.
