Peter Sloly to Help Lead CATAAlliance Cybercrime and Police Modernization Campaigns

The Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance (CATAAlliance) is pleased to announce that Peter Sloly, Deputy Chief, Toronto Police Service (Ret’d) has agreed to lead in the development of a National Cybercrime Advisory Council dedicated to addressing many of the critical priorities and needs as identified in the recently released Canadian Law Enforcement Cybercrime Priorities and Need report.

Furthermore, Mr. Sloly will be continuing to advance his recognized leadership and passion for the modernization of policing by joining CATAAlliance’s Innovation Leadership Council and through his role continue to advocate for the adoption and deployment of innovative technologies by police and the broader public safety community.

“I have had the distinct pleasure of working with CATAAlliance on many occasions over the years in my role as a Deputy Chief for the Toronto Police Service, and my respect for their commitment to advancing innovation in policing allowed for the easy choice to assist them advance this mandate in my post-policing career,” says Mr. Sloly. “I am especially intent on advancing the development of the cybercrime advisory council as the issues around the protection from and prosecution of cybercrime require a true drive towards innovation and the adoption and deployment of new technologies. CATAAlliance members and stakeholders can expect to see aggressive advances in this area in the very near future.”
