CAMSC Award for Corporate Advocacy to be presented at CATA's Innovation Awards Gala on May 19, 2010: Call for Nominations

CAMSC
Toronto - CATAAlliance, Canada's largest high tech association, announced today the call for nominations for the CAMSC Award: A corporate advocacy champion award, presented to an individual within the high tech community who actively promotes procurement and supplier diversity.

The Canadian Aboriginal and Minority Supplier Council, CAMSC operates as a private, sector-led, not for profit membership organization, dedicated to promoting and facilitating access to procurement opportunities between major corporations in Canada and suppliers of all sizes that are owned and operated by Canadian aboriginals and minorities. Alcatel-Lucent, Dell, Cisco, IBM and HP, active members of CAMSC, are just several examples of leading ICT companies that leverage supplier diversity for innovation and competitiveness.

"CAMSC is pleased to work in partnership with CATA, and present the CAMSC Award at the CATA Alliance Gala Awards," says Orrin Benn, CAMSC president. "As we continuously strive to expand opportunities for aboriginal and minority owned businesses throughout Canada, we are thrilled to be able to recognize those companies and individuals who lead the way as corporate advocates and champions in promoting procurement and supplier diversity."

The CAMSC Award will be presented on May 19th in Ottawa at the CATAAlliance's Annual Gala Awards Dinner, a 25 year tradition of recognizing outstanding technological innovation and corporate leadership in expanding the frontiers of Canada's advanced technology industries.

"I am personally very pleased to see this reciprocity come into fruition - CAMSC and CATA have worked alongside each other for some time now, and I believe this reflects true partnership," says Kevin Wennekes, CATA's VP of Research. "It also reflects on the importance of diversity and innovation as being mutually inclusive traits that all companies can aspire towards."
