Sales Tax Harmonization Alert: Register today for the Teleforum on new rules and compliance
A one hour Teleforum sponsored by CATAAlliance will take place on Friday, February 19th at 10:00 a.m. EST. Pre Register now as space is limited.
The retail sales tax systems in Ontario and British Columbia will be eliminated from July 1, 2010 and replaced by a Harmonized Sales Tax with the federal Goods and Services Tax. Since the initial announcements, many new HST rules have been announced and there is now only a few short months to prepare for the new tax. It will be essential that organizations turn their attention to the tasks at hand to ensure a smooth transition.
Lloyd McMaster of PricewaterhouseCoopers and CATA Board member will lead you through an overview of how the new system will work and will focus on some of the main changes including application of the rules affecting the transition to HST, how input tax credit restrictions will work and some of the new reporting and system requirements.
Ample time will be provided for Q&A and peer exchanges as part of building a community of interest on tax and finance issues affecting high tech enterprise growth.
Who should attend?
Anyone involved in tax compliance in both large and SME (small to mid sized) enterprises.
