Pascal Rodier British Columbia Ambulance Service

Superintendent Rodier began his career as a Paramedic with the British Columbia Ambulance Service (BCAS) in 1988. In August 2002, he was promoted to Paramedic Chief and accepted his first posting in the City of Richmond. In April of 2008 he was promoted to Superintendent and he was assigned to the Lower Mainland Regional Headquarters Operations Section. He is currently the Officer in Charge of the Lower Mainland’s South Fraser District.

Superintendent Rodier was one of the original planners of, and has been, the BCAS’ project team leader for the province-wide expansion of the Combined Events Radio Project (CERP) since 2003. He is a member of CITIG and was a part of the national working group that wrote, the recently approved, Communications Interoperability Strategy for Canada and the Communications Interoperability Action Plan for Canada. Also, he is currently the EMSCC Representative and Co-Chair on the Tri-Services Special Purpose Committee on 700 MHz Broadband for Mission Critical Public Safety Data.

Superintendent Rodier was invested as a Member (Serving Brother) in the Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem; medal presentation 1992. He was awarded the Richmond Chamber of Commerce 911 Award for Ambulance Paramedic of the Year in 2003; based primarily on his work to build inter-agency relationships and communications. Also, he was presented with the Governor General’s Emergency Medical Services Exemplary Service Medal in 2010.

Superintendent Rodier has a Master of Arts, in leadership with a specialty in health, from the Royal Roads University in Victoria BC. Superintendent Rodier has written articles on voice interoperability and has been a presenter at a number of public events, courses, and conferences. Le surintendant Rodier a débuté sa carrière en 1988 comme ambulancier paramédical au British Columbia Ambulance Service (BCAS). Il a travaillé à tous les centres de la région métropolitaine de Vancouver. En août 2002, il fut promu au poste d'ambulancier paramédical en chef de la ville de Richmond. Nouvelle promotion en avril 2008, il devint surintendant et affecté dans la section des opérations de l'Administration centrale du Lower Mainland. Il est présentement l'officier en charge du Lower Mainland South Fraser District.

Le surintendant Rodier a été un des principaux planificateurs et chef de l'équipe du projet d'expansion du Combined Events Radio Project (CERP) depuis 2003. Il est membre du GICTI (le Groupe d'intérêt canadien en technologie de l'interopérabilité) et a été un des participants du groupe national qui a écrit les plans Stratégie et Action d'interopérabilité des télécommunications au Canada.

Le surintendant Rodier est représentant du CSMUC (Chefs des services médicaux d'urgence du Canada) et coprésident de Tri-Services Spéciaux de la commission de But à large bande 700 MHz pour la mission critique de données de sécurité publique.

Outre ses nombreuses réalisations, le surintendant Rodier a reçu :
  • La médaille et le titre de Frère servant du très vénérable Ordre de Saint-Jean de Jérusalem en 1992;
  • Le prix d'excellence 911 du meilleur ambulancier de l'année 2003 que lui a décerné la Chambre de commerce de Richmond pour le travail qu'il a accompli en vue d'améliorer les relations et la communication entre organismes;
  • La médaille fédérale de service d'urgence médicale pour service distingué, remise par le Lieutenant-Gouverneur de la Colombie-Britanique lors d'une cérémonie à Victoria en 2010.
  • La maîtrise ès arts en leadership dans le domaine de la santé, obtenue à Royal Roads University, à Victoria (C.-B.).
