Tom Copeland is the founder and President of eagle.ca, an Internet Service Provider established in Cobourg Ontario in 1995. He is the Chair of the Canadian Association of Internet Providers, a division of CATAAlliance, and has long been an advocate of information technology in small-town and rural Canada. He has served on a working group of the National Broadband TaskForce and is a founding member of the first Industry Canada-sponsored Community Access Program sites in Northumberland County. In 2001, he was recognized by the Information Technology Association of Canada and Industry Canada as a Community IT Hero for his work in promoting the use of information technology in the communities of Northumberland. In 2002, Mr.Copeland was named Cobourg's Business Person of the Year. In 2004 Tom was appointed to the Federal Anti-Spam Task Force and is involved in a number of multi-sector initiatives dealing with Internet child exploitation.
