For the first time, Stanford University’s global Women in Data Science (WiDS) Conference is coming to Ottawa and being broadcast world-wide. Stanford has partnered with Gaffney Consulting and a voluntary Canadian ecosystem have rapidly come together to focus on AI and Data Sciences.
Canada has produced several major breakthroughs in AI in recent years and we expect this to accelerate in the future. Attracting, developing and retaining women in AI and Data Sciences is going to key to Canada’s innovation success.
Join us for a day of interactive talks with some of Canada’s leading female research visionaries in AI from stellar organizations like Element AI, SalesChoice Inc, University of Ottawa and Georgian Partners. CATAAlliance is a proud event partner.
We’ll discuss latest AI research, application of AI, Canada’s role as a global leader in AI research and development, and the future of AI in our lives.
Talks and discussion will be held in the auditorium at the newly opened Canada Science and Technology Museum in Ottawa and will be live-streamed for our global audience.
All genders are invited to participate in the conference, which features exclusively female speakers, including Cindy Gordon, CATA National Women in Tech spokesperson who will address “AI is Transforming Industries – Are you Ready? A Perfect World or a Perfect Storm”
Dr. Cindy Gordon, CEO and Founder, SalesChoice is a Canadian Innovation Leader, winner of the EY & CATA, Sara Kirke Award, and National Start Up Canada Innovation Award Winner. SalesChoice specializes in AI on CRM business processes to accelerate business productivity and growth. Touted by Aragon Research as a Hot Company to Watch in Dec, 2018, SalesChoice AI platform has been built using some of the largest data sets in the world. Dr. Gordon is author of over 14 books, and is currently working on THE AI SPLIT, a discussion of diverse industries and how AI will transform them. This session will discuss this research, and also highlight the imperative for increased transparency and security with AI, and the acceleration of attracting, developing women into the Data Sciences and AI field to ensure diversity in AI solution development to ensure a no gender bias world. Former experiences of Dr. Gordon include: Accenture Partner, Xerox Director & GM, Group Director, Nortel Networks, VP Citibank, Partner VC Fund, XDLI, and Founder Helix Commerce and InfoTech Consultants. She is a founding member of the Toronto Maple Leaf Angels, and a CoFounder of the AI Directory, www.aidirectory.ca a project going global to create an international AI collaborative of talent.
