About Suzanne Simpson
Suzanne embodies not only the same characteristics that Sara Kirke herself had in her achievements, but also Suzanne’s contributions to advancing the opportunities for women across Canada make her a worthy recipient of this award.
Suzanne’s career has been focused on researching, designing and implementing systems where all individuals have equal opportunities to achieve success in their careers. Her early work with the Canadian Military was instrumental in expanding women’s opportunities and has forever changed the role of women in the Canadian Forces. Even after leaving the military, Suzanne actively lobbied to expand women’s opportunities, culminating in her being called as an expert witness in a historical human rights case. This resulted in the Armed Forces being ordered to provide women with the full range of career opportunities enjoyed by their male counterparts.
As the leader of an organization she founded almost thirty years ago, Suzanne’s entrepreneurial spirit is infused throughout HRSG, creating a culture of innovation and equality. As the technology catches up to her visionary plans, HRSG is poised to disrupt the market as it leverages under her leadership new technologies such as machine learning to better serve clients and create HR applications that remove barriers across the employee lifecycle.
