Canada’s Procurement Ombudsman releases insightful Report: CATA Advocacy Alert!

CATA
Alliance (www.cata.ca) would like to share with members and crowdfunding supporters Canada’s Procurement Ombudsman Report (2016-2017), an extensive Report based on and offering insights into the experiences of Canadian businesses and suppliers across selling goods and services to federal organizations.

You can request a copy of the Report by contacting CATA CEO, John Reid at jreid@cata.ca . Please confirm interests in CATAAlliance advocacy aimed at bringing your contracting issues to the attention of senior federal decision-makers and Parliamentarians.

Three Key Procurement Issues

  • Capacity: The impact that a lack of procurement capacity has had on federal organizations, and on suppliers trying to do business with them.
  • Standing Offers: There are no guarantees of revenue for suppliers even once they have qualified on federal standing offers.
  • Simpler procurement: Federal procurement documents need to be clear and simple enough for suppliers to respond to, yet sufficiently detailed and precise to lay out federal organizations’ expectations.
