CATAAlliance tables 3 page game plan for changes to the federal Innovative Solutions program in order to empower SME’s to strengthen Canada’s knowledge based economy.
From Left to Right: Michael J Kelly, Dean, Lazaridis School of Business & Economics, Dan Wasserman, CATAAlliance, Procurement Advocate, Sir Terry Matthews, National Spokesperson, CATAAlliance, and John Reid, President & CEO, CATAAlliance.
CATAAlliance is calling for the newly created Innovative Solutions program to be reset with clauses to ensure a portion of government spending is allocated to advancing commercially viable research, plus an added mandate that the government procure from small businesses (SME’s). Such changes would parallel the highly successful U.S. SBIR and Set Aside programs as enshrined in the U.S. Small Business Act of 1953.
