advocacy6Where Future Federal Budgets Need to Go

There seems to be no evidence of plan that Government officials are able to table or even outline to us regarding the review of all business-facing innovation programs currently in place. As a result we are starting the outreach in the hopes that the government is going to move on this important sector of the economy.  CATA’s brief outlines key issues and concerns for future federal budgets.

Ottawa, ON…CATAAlliance, Canada’s One Voice for Innovation Lobby Group tabled today a three page discussion paper to foster a dialogue on the overall framework that governs the way business are taxed, IP (intellectual property) is exploited and innovation programs are delivered to the marketplace.

According to CATA Sr. VP,
Russ Roberts, a 30 year public policy veteran, “ There seems to be no evidence of plan that Government officials are able to table or even outline to us regarding the review of all business-facing innovation programs currently in place. We are now reaching out to our communities for guidance on where future federal budgets need to go.”

The CATA discussion paper (supported by detailed briefs), raises issues such as consultation methodology, innovation program management, SR&ED tax credits, Innovative Solutions Canada, treatment of Intellectual Property, etc., and can be viewed at: http://cata.ca/2017/future-budgets/
