The Sara Kirke Award program for Entrepreneurship and Innovation is presented to women who have shown outstanding technological innovation and corporate leadership — leadership that has significantly expanded the frontiers of Canada’s advanced technology industry. This Award aims to celebrate innovation, entrepreneurship and positive role models for women in Canada’s technology sector.

Profile of Cindy Gordon

The Community has called Cindy Gordon a remarkable woman. Her unique energy comes from her abundance to push forward the current horizon of knowledge and to share such knowledge with the world.

Her entrepreneurial spirit is shown in her gutsy actions to form Sales Choice to develop the next generation of predictive analytics. Competing against IBM’s Watson is not for the faint of heart.

Her demonstrative leadership ability is being witnessed in real-time as her company, SalesChoice, sails and leads others on a voyage where the destination is not guaranteed.

No one knows if they will find land. Cindy is leading through faith in one’s ability to truly disrupt current understanding in today’s marketplace through advanced scientific programming.

Cindy is a true innovator. Her leadership is based on a vision, strategic thinking and empathy.

Her life’s work to date has culminated in her vision and investments to move science forward in predictive analytics.

One must also recognize her leadership in so many important volunteer initiatives as well as her many scholarly works, books, papers and business presentations. Cindy is a dedicated technology innovator. Continuously moving the bar higher for outcomes that improve our society.

Some examples include: National Chair Equity CrowdFunding (Leading over 100 volunteers for lobbying to secure the rights for Canada to achieve legalized equity crowdfunding, mentoring hundreds of women coast to coast in their IT/technology careers etc)

Cindy has been an active supporter of gender equity in business in her business work and in her overall community interactions and mentoring men and women coast to coast to improve the community.

According to one of her Mentees, “ Cindy is one of the most estimable leaders I have had the pleasure to work with. Innovator, Strategist, Passionate, Mentor, Knowledgeable, People Leader, Result oriented and a kind human being… these come to my mind when I think of Cindy.”
