Public confidence in policing depends on effective, evidence-based strategies and practice. Police leaders, policy makers and academics recognize that Canadian policing needs a system-wide transformation rather than incremental adjustment. Credible research plays a pivotal role in that transformation.
The Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police Research Foundation (CACP RF) is a registered charitable foundation that works to make evidence-based research an integral part of Canadian policing. Aligned with the CACP, the CACP RF promotes the creation, use and sharing of collaborative research that results in better policing decisions so that Canadian communities continue to thrive.
Watch as CATAAlliance’s Chief Business Officer, Kevin Wennekes, interviews CACP RF Executive Director, Susan Clarke, in a conversation around the strategic direction of the Foundation, it’s current research priorities, and the fast-approaching annual conference.

The 2017 conference will focus on practical, evidence-based and potentially transformational strategies for public and community safety. Sessions will examine socio-economic and health issues that lead to interaction with the most vulnerable and marginalized populations. More importantly, this conference will explore tangible and realistic strategies that have achieved results and delivered significant impact on practice and policy.
The Conference takes place March 22-24 at the Fairmont Winnipeg and will be of interest to police executives, health and social services executives, government policy makers, academics, and industry partners.
